St. Cecilia Music Center is proud to offer a variety of music education programs for West Michigan youth. Our wide array of student music classes provide training and experience that fosters a lifelong appreciation for music.
Strings to Schools is a free, after-school beginning strings program for Stocking Elementary students in grades 1-5. Students receive instruction in viola, violin, or cello two days per week for 45 minutes. At the end of the school year, the students perform in St. Cecilia Music Center’s Royce Auditorium.
This program is provided at no cost to the students or the school. Corporate, Foundation, and Individual support from the community makes this program possible.
We are excited to invite your school to participate in SCMC’s new Assembly Program.
This program will feature two separate in-school, 30-minute educational music assemblies for 2nd to 5th graders. One will feature folk music and the other will feature jazz. After each school has had their assembly visit, we will bus students to a live performance by both the folk and jazz groups.
